Planning the term of treatments
Planning the term of the treatment is a very important element that allows maximum use of the potential of foliar fertilization with VitaFer fertilizers. It is important to make application at the right time and under certain conditions. To check the periods in which specific crops should be fertilized with the nutrients, please refer to the fertilization plans that have been prepared by our specialists (fertilizing programs).
Plants absorb nutrients not only from the soil through the root system, but also to foliar fertilization through leaves (mainly through the natural leaf organs: stomata and stems). To achieve optimum results, the treatment should be performed when the plants have already produced sufficiently well developed leaves, depending on the species of the crop. An important factor that needs to be taken into account when choosing the dates of fertilization is weather conditions during and immediately after the treatment. It is advised not to use fertilizers on windy days, with too much sunshine and on rainy days. For complete and effective use of nutrients supplied by the foliage it is recommended to perform treatments at temperatures in the range of 10-20 ° C. During sunshine days, the treatment should be carried out early in the morning or in the evening, so that the plant moisturized by solution absorbs the applied formulation as long as possible, which contributes to the uptake of the ingredients. Ideal conditions are cloudy weather and an early morning or evening when the plant tissues are relaxed and the ingredients easily get inside the plants. Green parts of the plant easily absorb nutrients, when they remain wetted with fertilizer. The foliar fertilization process ensures very quick absorption and incorporation of macronutrients and micronutrients into the plant parts, effectively preventing disease, nutrient deficiencies and lowering yield (more about foliar fertilization: "Efficiency of foliar fertilization").
In conclusion, the treatment should be performed:
- In the morning (after dew drops) or in the evening,
- At temperatures in the range of 10-20 ° C (warm days after 8 o’clock p.m.),
- When there is little sunshine (it is recommended to perform the treatment during cloudy days),
- When there is high humidity,
- When there is good soil moisture.
